After a quiet start to 2017 in the rural property market, Powell’s have experienced a very busy summer so far, with an upsurge in residential property market conditions appearing to taking place during the summer months. A number of successful sales have been agreed, and are under offer during August, on a wide range of premium rural properties, including country houses, cottages (including one with a caravan park), smallholdings and several premium landed properties.

With families being away on holiday, and children off school, property hunting often falls to the latter of their priorities. However, throughout August we have found that our sales enquiries have risen considerably, combined with significant applicant registrations searching for property in Monmouthshire".
"It is likely that the improved market conditions are connected with the wider economic markets returning to normal, following disruption caused by the General Election, and also in part down to the long awaited announcement that at the end of July the toll charges on the Severn Bridge, linking Monmouthshire to the south-west, will be scrapped at the end of 2018".
"With property values and demand strongly increasing in and around Bristol, many are opting to take a long term view on commuting over the bridge to their workplaces. Monmouthshire is incredibly desirable, with beautiful countryside, thriving community and a wealth of unique properties, and generally values which lag a little behind the Bristol market. With outstanding Primary and Secondary schools also on the doorstep, the area is perfect for working families."
